Each week, they’ll design and build their own robots, then learn how to program them to complete fun missions—like navigating obstacle courses, pushing objects, or following a path. Along the way, they’ll explore basic coding, engineering design, and teamwork in a fun and supportive environment. No prior robotics experience needed—just imagination and curiosity!

Do you love talking, sharing exciting news, or being in front of the camera? Broadcast Basics is the perfect place to start! In this enrichment, our youngest broadcasters will learn what it takes to create a school news show while building confidence, teamwork, and speaking skills. Students will practice using clear voices, reading short scripts, and recording fun segments like the weather, lunch menu, pledges, etc. This class is designed to introduce students to the exciting world of broadcasting and help prepare them for our upper-grade Broadcast Enrichment, where students take on additional responsibilities like filming, editing videos, and producing the school's morning announcements. If you enjoy performing, learning new skills, and having fun in front of the camera, Broadcast Basics is the perfect place to begin your broadcasting journey!

Students will work in teams to crack secret codes, solve escape-room style puzzles, design creative solutions, and tackle exciting hands-on engineering challenges. In celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary, young chefs will explore classic American-inspired seasonal recipes while learning essential cooking and baking techniques. Through hands-on classes, students will build kitchen confidence, creativity, teamwork, and valuable life skills in a fun and engaging environment. Each session features NEW RECIPES and seasonal activities, giving students plenty of opportunities to create, cook, and discover new flavors. LEGO® Stop-Motion Movie Makers Lights, camera, LEGO®! In LEGO® Stop-Motion Movie Makers, students become filmmakers, storytellers, builders, directors, and production crew members as they create their own animated movies using LEGO® bricks and stop-motion technology. Working in small production teams, students will design LEGO® sets, create original characters, develop storylines, film stop-motion scenes, add sound effects, and produce short animated movies. Each week introduces a different part of the filmmaking process, giving students opportunities to build new skills while bringing their creative ideas to life. This hands-on class combines creativity, storytelling, engineering, technology, communication, and teamwork in a fun and engaging format. Activities are designed to be accessible for younger students while offering plenty of creative challenges for older elementary students.

Step into the world of coding and creativity in Game Makers! Students will become real game designers as they create their own digital games from the ground up. Using kid-friendly coding platforms like Scratch and MakeCode Arcade, they’ll design characters, set challenges, and bring stories to life through interactive play. Each week, students will learn a new piece of the game design process—coding movement, adding sound, designing levels, and testing their games just like professional developers. By the end of the session, every student will have a fully playable game to share at our Game Expo Showcase! Students will plant seeds, care for our school garden, explore the plant life cycle, and make fun garden-inspired arts and crafts. Each week brings something new to grow, create, and discover—come join the fun in the garden!

What is Kardivas? Kardivas is a character-building club for 5th grade girls designed to encourage each girl to recognize that she is uniquely created with purpose, has worth, and has something valuable to contribute. For more than 20 years, Kardivas has helped prepare LTISD girls for the transition to middle school through weekly meetings, service projects, social activities, and positive mentorship. Every 5th grade girl is invited to join! What is the Club Like? Kardivas meetings are fun, welcoming, and interactive! Girls enjoy a snack, receive awards, participate in icebreaker games, and take part in meaningful discussions focused on character and relationships. Topics may include honesty, being a good friend, forgiveness, gratitude, and other skills that help girls build confidence and positive relationships. In addition to weekly meetings, Kardivas offers optional social events, service projects, and special celebrations, including Christmas and Easter parties. These events are held off campus and outside of the regular Thursday meeting time, and participation is completely optional. How is Kardivas Organized? Each Kardivas club is organized and managed by a team of leader moms who have a 5th grade daughter at the school. Lake Travis High School senior girls also serve as mentors, helping lead activities and discussions during club meetings. Scholarships are available upon request.
