LEGO® Stop-Motion Movie Makers Lights, camera, LEGO®! In LEGO® Stop-Motion Movie Makers, students become filmmakers, storytellers, builders, directors, and production crew members as they create their own animated movies using LEGO® bricks and stop-motion technology. Working in small production teams, students will design LEGO® sets, create original characters, develop storylines, film stop-motion scenes, add sound effects, and produce short animated movies. Each week introduces a different part of the filmmaking process, giving students opportunities to build new skills while bringing their creative ideas to life. This hands-on class combines creativity, storytelling, engineering, technology, communication, and teamwork in a fun and engaging format. Activities are designed to be accessible for younger students while offering plenty of creative challenges for older elementary students.

Come learn the fastest game on two feet! This fun, high-energy program is perfect for girls who are new to lacrosse and ready to learn the game. Participants will build skills in catching, throwing, cradling, shooting, defense, and scooping ground balls through exciting games, drills, and activities. Each session builds on the last, helping players develop coordination, confidence, teamwork, and overall athletic skills while staying active and having fun! The program will wrap up with a scrimmage play date, giving players the chance to put all their new lacrosse skills into action. No experience or equipment required—all equipment is provided!

Students collaborate with each other and teachers to write and record the daily announcements that are broadcast each morning at Serene Hills Elementary. Students have the opportunity to be on the film crew, to be newscasters, to be the director, and to conduct interviews. Students will also work in Canva to create digital content such as backgrounds to use with a greenscreen.

What is Kardivas? Kardivas is a character-building club for 5th grade girls designed to encourage each girl to recognize that she is uniquely created with purpose, has worth, and has something valuable to contribute. For more than 20 years, Kardivas has helped prepare LTISD girls for the transition to middle school through weekly meetings, service projects, social activities, and positive mentorship. Every 5th grade girl is invited to join! What is the Club Like? Kardivas meetings are fun, welcoming, and interactive! Girls enjoy a snack, receive awards, participate in icebreaker games, and take part in meaningful discussions focused on character and relationships. Topics may include honesty, being a good friend, forgiveness, gratitude, and other skills that help girls build confidence and positive relationships. In addition to weekly meetings, Kardivas offers optional social events, service projects, and special celebrations, including Christmas and Easter parties. These events are held off campus and outside of the regular Thursday meeting time, and participation is completely optional. How is Kardivas Organized? Each Kardivas club is organized and managed by a team of leader moms who have a 5th grade daughter at the school. Lake Travis High School senior girls also serve as mentors, helping lead activities and discussions during club meetings. Scholarships are available upon request. We got such a great response last session, and want to cater to your older girls skills and needs. We love to hear from them and what they want to learn and focus on! We have planned to teach them how to braid others and their own hair, a makeup intro, practicing nail art on fake nails and their own. As well as push on nails, manicures, pedicures, gel application, as well as hair extensions, fairy hair and care. We will have so much fun!

Young Rembrandts: Fall Drawing Adventures Back-to-school creativity is in full swing with Young Rembrandts! This semester, students will explore a colorful world of characters, patterns, textures, and artistic techniques while building their drawing skills and confidence. Young artists will create exciting projects including a realistic Pizza drawing to practice proportion, detail, and shading; an adorable Baby Sloth focused on expression and character design; Cake Pops featuring proportion and texture; and a powerful Monster Truck that introduces perspective and line work. Students will also explore portrait composition and cultural appreciation through an art history-inspired project and finish the session with an adorable Holiday Puppy. Each lesson combines creativity and imagination with fundamental drawing techniques, giving students the opportunity to develop their artistic skills while creating artwork they’ll be proud to take home. Get ready for a fun adventure in Spanish! In this engaging class, students will build their language skills through games, activities, conversations, and creative practice. They’ll learn to read and understand Spanish, grow their vocabulary, ask and answer everyday questions, and gain confidence communicating with others. As students progress, they’ll explore how to use Spanish in real-life situations while discovering present, past, and future verb forms. By the end of the class, students will be ready to speak, read, write, and listen with greater confidence—opening the door to a whole new language and culture!
