Scientific Illustration for Grades 9th-12th
Discover the world around you through art, observation, and exploration! In Nature Sketchbook Studio, students will begin by creating their own sketchbooks using basic bookbinding techniques and then transform them into a personal collection of drawings, observations, and discoveries.
Throughout the 8-week course, students will develop their artistic skills while exploring a variety of fascinating subjects, including:
- Botanicals and plant life
- Seeds and plant life cycles
- Birds and feathers
- Reptiles and habitats
- Animals and tracks
- The skeletal system
- Figure drawing and movement
Students will practice detailed sketching, observational drawing, research, and identification skills while learning how artists use careful observation to capture the world around them. This course encourages creativity, curiosity, and confidence while helping students develop a stronger artistic eye.
No previous drawing experience is required—just bring your curiosity and imagination! Join us for a fun, creative journey where art and discovery come together.
